So, we've survived the first week of the development. The builders referred to this as the 'dirty' phase of the works, however we've renamed this to the 'dusty' phase! There is dust everywhere! No matter how many times we sweep the floor - it still looks dusty. The hardest working member of the team to date is Henry the vacuum cleaner...closely followed by Rob & Dani.
Rob, Dani, Colin and Matt (plumber and electrician) have been busy preparing the kitchen for the professional White Rock finish. This has involved taking everything out of the kitchen; removing every plug socket, pipework, radiators, old cupboards, tiles, sinks etc... The White Rock finish is a commercial kitchen finish which will make cleaning the walls a lot easier for Rob and the team. This is being installed throughout most of next week. Rob and Dani are very excited about this - that's chef's for you!
The transformations Front of House continue. The bars were all stripped out on day one and it's taken 4 days to put the pub back together again. Final bits of plastering will happen next week and then the decorations will start. Next week we also look forward to the new bar being installed. The new lay out if fantastic, and everyone comments on how much space we now have so we are excited about seeing how it works with furniture and of course customers.
We are still on track for re-opening towards the end of January and we'll update you again next week.
Have a great weekend
Hannah & Garry
