Hannah and Garry Clark are pleased to announce new spring opening times at the Bear Inn. We are extending the food service times and bar opening times to reflect the new season.
Along with the new extended opening times, a new spring menu has been introduced. With locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, the new menu features lighter dishes with a few hearty comfort-food meals of the winter menu. Favourites such as Gunner’s Daughter Sausages and The Cannon Bear Camembert are still on the menu and are joined by new spring dishes like Roasted Breast of Pigeon and Roasted Rump of Spring Lamb.
Rob, head chef at the Bear, says, “The new menu reflects the new season outside, there are lots of greens little flashes of colour.” He also says to watch out for special seasonal items such as rhubarb and asparagus which will be added to the menu for the few weeks they are in season.
Food will be served on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 12 noon to 9pm and Sundays 12 noon to 4pm. The bar will be open on Monday to Wednesday between 12 noon to 9pm, Thursday to Saturday from 12 noon to 11pm and Sundays 12 noon to 6pm.
Rob says, “Our Spring menu has all the traditional favourites which matches village pub life but also features some exciting new dishes which you wouldn’t necessarily find on a pub menu. This is good because it means when you want something just that little bit extra special like the Lamb or Salmon, it’s there on the menu and if you just fancy something like cod and chips or a burger, you can enjoy the best quality, locally sourced ingredients.”
